An 8768-year Yamal Tree-ring Chronology as a Tool for Paleoecological Reconstructions

چکیده
Abstract—In recent years, the supra-long Yamal tree-ring chronology has been significantly extended and became much more reliable. This article characterizes sample wood used to build longest absolutely dated Siberian Larch of Subarctic area, i.e. from 6748 BC 2019 AD, for a total continuous period 8768 years. The ecological value temporal spatial distribution trees are presented, their potential use application in various field natural sciences humanities discussed.

A 400-year tree-ring chronology from the tropical treeline of North America.
High-elevation sites in the tropics may be particularly sensitive to rapid climate change. By sampling treeline populations, I have developed the first extensive (> 300 years) tree-ring chronology in tropical North America. The site is Nevado de Colima, at the western end of the Mexican Neovolcanic Belt, and the species studied is Mexican mountain pine (Pinus hartwegii). Despite past logging in...
متن کاملtree ring based precipitation reconstruction of northeast iran using juniper tree chronology of lain region
1. introduction long-term climatic data are a prerequisite for hydro-meteorological studies and understanding of past climate. iran is mostly located in semi-arid to arid climate zones, so information on the natural long-term variability of the hydroclimate is of great relevance for land use planning, agriculture, and water supply of a growing population. however, the maximum length of recorded...
متن کاملTemperature reconstructions from tree-ring densities overestimate volcanic cooling
The fidelity of inferences on volcanic cooling from tree-ring density records has recently come into question, with competing claims that temperature reconstructions based on tree-ring records underestimate cooling due to an increased likelihood of missing rings or overestimate cooling due to reduced light availability accentuating the response. Here we test these competing hypotheses in the la...
متن کاملClimatic Assessment of a 580-year Chamaecyparis Lawsoniana (port Orford Cedar) Tree-ring Chronology in the Siskiyou Mountains, Usa
Tree-ring data from Chamaecyparis lawsoniana (A. Murr.) Parl. (Port Orford cedar; Cupressaceae) were used to create a standardized chronology, assess the local, limiting factors on radial growth, and investigate the extent of a unique climatic event. We produced a 580-year tree-ring chronology (A.D. 1420 to 2000) from a large number of cedars (n 5 1537) sampled in one 37 km2 area in the Siskiyo...
متن کاملTree-ring Chronology as a Source of Information on Susceptibility of Sitka Spruce to Climatic Conditions of Pomerania (northern Poland)
This paper presents results concerning climatic conditions affecting diameter growth of Sitka spruce introduced to Baltic Pomerania (Sławno Forest District). A relatively high homogeneity of tree-ring series permitted to construct on their basis the tree-ring chronology of Sitka spruce. A significant positive correlation was found between radial increments of Sitka spruce and air temperatures o...
